After my second one started having scrolling issues, I decided it was time to hunt a new mouse. Did my research and check with my gaming sons and their choices, then it was pretty much a sure decision. I am plain dirt old and don't game but have been a computer techie since the TRS-80 model 1. This is a great mouse for me. It is solid in construction like they used to feel.
The scroll wheel is detented nicely and smooth to move. The buttons have been relocated from the old intellimouse so you don't accidentally hit the page back button when reaching for the mouse, plus the force needed to press it is more pronounce and you have to intentionally press this now. As for the right and left click buttons on top they are crisp and right on the money for accuracy. As for the aesthetics, the shape is more ergonomic and comfortable. The 'taillight' it better looking and for a difference there is no light under the mouse for the sensor.

I used that mouse until 2012, it looked awful, old and used, the sensor was a relic and awful in newer games that needed accuracy, but I formed my 'gamer hand' with that shape. After using HyperX and Zowie for a while, now I got the Pro and even thought the other ones were great, I felt right at home with this one. It has top of the line specs and the best shape I ever used.
All buttons are great, scroll is amazing (Zowie one is horrible), texture is awesome and grippy (way better than Zowie). The cable could've been longer (wish it was 2m) and more flexible, but it's not bad. Overall I am super pleased with this mouse. I highly recommend it if the classic Microsoft shape is what you're looking for and need top sensor and performance. I like to rest most of my hand on the mouse when I am using it, and many mice do not allow me to do this comfortably, however, the IntelliMouse is nice and big with large, rounded edges for fingers to rest easily and grip. I also like to play video games and the sensor leaves little to complain about.
The scroll wheel also has nice, pronounced steps that seemed a bit harsh at first, but I very much enjoy it now. The led accent at the back is also a very nice bonus. If you are looking for a mouse to ruin all other mice for you, this is the one.
